Annie

hey everyone, yeah aideen that would rule! would you fly up if you were coming? anyway on saturday morning i got a phone call off my dad to say that my aunt and my cousin saw me on mtv2 and i was on it loads! so anyone with any sort of access to it please watch and or tape my celebrity appearance! we had a halloween party on saturday night and i dressed up as maddonna and we carved a pumpkin and everything, we also made a big freaky kinda of punch with tons of alcohol in it so everyone was quite drunk, and then the warden shut down the party because the night before someone had smashed loads of windows so no more parties this week. i keep meeting loads of people from bangor, mainly bangor grammar. so mark and caoimhe and nykki come tomorrow and im v excited, this is my reading week in two of my subjects so its a sweet holiday, probably should be doing work right now but hey! hope everyone is well and sees me on tv. cool you got your nose pierced helen!!!!rock \m/

Aidsmee

Yey Helen you got yer nose pierced! Cant wait to see it! Will be in Londres this time next week so we'll hafta meet up. That applies to you too Dette if yr not too busy. Hope you got your work done okay.

Just found out that LCD Soundsystem are playing a few dates in December (*yey!*), I'll either go see them in London on the 7th, or in Glasgow on the 3rd, possibly Glasgow cos I wanna see you Annie Bananie!

Helen

hello everyone!
just had mad few nights. went to oxford on fri to see brian. oh my god, oxford has the BEST SANDWICH places in the world. i got so many yummy sandwichs. we went to this weird tavern like old english style pub which was cool and quite surreal. and then we went to a dodgy nightclub called escape. brian and his friends r mental. at the club, they took over the middle of the dance club with their crappy insane dancing. it was very funny. on sat morning brian and i got more sandwichs 4 breakfast in an award winning sandwich shop. mmmm... and we did some shopping but bought nothing. but i got my nose pierced - yey! i was planning to stay another night but they were just having another big boozing night and then they were going to a fancy dress party and i had no costume, so i figured i'd go home on sat night and have a quiet night. i got home at 10ish and my flatmates made me go to a halloween party. oh my god, there were so many dicks at the party! like seriously, these boys who thought they were god's gifts stripping and dancing and ruining for me the kings of leon. arrogant art dicks. but twas ok cos there were also some really nice people. anyway, how is everyone?

bronagh (again)

oh yeah forgot to mention i met ryan hanna last night. he was wearing a st. pat's gaelic jersey. say no more. his accent has got so much more irishy for some reason. he's in catered halls though. so not hardcore.

Bronagh

hey, just finished last class of the day. woo-hoo! and also for a while cos it is reading week next week. am shattered though cos randomly went on a maths pub crawl last night(2 of my flatmates are maths geeks like you dette) and it was fancy dress. however we sort of left the pub crawl and so just looked like idiots in fancy dress. so tired but there is a hallowe'en pary in the bar in our halls tonight and then i said i'd go out tomorrow night as well. i just wanna go to sleep! plus have loads of work to do, have a big law essay thing to do which i'm sure will involve reading lots of boring cases and i have to record a french presentation on tape. ahh i think i'm more scared of that. will try and do work on sat. and sun. cos going to see daryl on monday and dette i will hopefully see you on friday? helen said i could stay at her's on friday night so you can take me out london style. i think i forgot to mention that tom vek was brilliant. that man is a genius. plus i got a free mix tape, from the support person, not tom vek. i'll love you and leave you. i'm going home to sleep.

Helen

hello everyone!!!!

this is weird. it's like 1 30 on a friday and i just got up - ive been getting up at 8 all week days before! (for college) but i have a day off. we had our freshers party last night at fabric. there were lots of hot boys, but they were completely outnumbered by all these modely girls - ugh!

anyways i'm really recked. just having a nice breakfast so i better leave 2 finish my food. just wanted 2 come see what everyones been up 2

Matthew

I now have a full time job! It's night shift at Tescos so that's my life officially over , but I get time and a quarter from 12-1 then time and a half from 1-6 or something equally ridiculous also I don't have to do Sats! I said that I was going to Derry on Monday to see Kathty so I wouldn't miss Halloween but it's not confirmed yet, i put so much effort in I would be pissed to miss it, but it ain't worth losing ajob over I guess.

Annie

aww dette poor you, i hope you feel better, also dont go to queen's, go to glasgow! its way better than everywhere. i havent really had a lot of work to do yet, just reading, one essay and an online test on a thing called moodle (i kid you all not). otherwise ive been pretty shattered lately, keep staying up late for no reason. last night we found a thing on rathergood.com where the key board swears so we phoned everyone we knew in halls and scared them by playing the scary sweary voice down the phone. you can phone everyone else in murano village for free with like an internal telephoning system. i dont think im gonna do much the rest of the week, try and sleep, im off tomorrow till next monday so bit of a holiday, cant wait for my visitors! everyone else feel free to visit any time you all like.

Dette

hey guys. feel like i havent been on in ages. been having a bit of a mad week - an american relative died last monday, then my great-aunt on thus, than aidan came over on friday so i couldnt go home for her funeral, then my granny died on saturday so had to catch an early morning flight on sunday (like 430am!). had funeral and stuff - was sad - then flight back yesterday. its been very tiring. to top it all off, i missed 3 days of lectures and teh deadline for one of my coursework pieces - d'oh! have anohter piece due in today which is absolutely deadly (cud only do 50% of it) and another tomorrow - even worse - aaaaaand a freeking test tomorro which counts for like 15% of my end of year mark. DDDDDDDDDD''''''''''OOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! but sure. no i really love london but i hate my course - i feel so stupid here but ive spent so much time complaining about it. im going to stick it til xmas and then reassess then. i may be joining u in belfast louise if it doesnt get any better. but today is going to be sunny - yay! although i forgot my toothbrush when i went home at the weekend so i have to go out now - its 8:06am - to buy one. have a nice sunny day everyone - i insist!

Bronagh

Hey, shouldn't actually be posting cos am meant to be doing my french coursework that i have to hand in tomorrow. agh. also have a seminar tomorrow morning so better go and read lots of crappy boring cases. was away for the weekend, haven't been doing much since i got back due to me being really broke. i don't see my money lasting until christmas, but i applied for a job. you just have to phone up alumni and pester them to give you money for scholarships and stuff so we'll see how that goes. yes matthew, i've had the puddle experience, i thought it's be funny to jump in a giant one and my shoes didn't dry out for days. i actually haven't seen deborah in over a week, better give her a text. i'm too broke to do anything though.

Louise

Just have to say that's really quite random brady livin there.
And also i hateeeeee Jackie she is drivin me up the wall- i was thinkin about this, i went to nursery, primary, grammar school with and now she's on my freekin course, honestly if i was to move to the other side of the world, i wouldn't be suprised if she ended up livin on the same street as me. What makes it even worse is out of 180 people she actually managed indirectly to make friends with the ones i've made friends with- AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
(End of rant)

Aideen

Hey all, sorry I haven't been posting in a while but I've been at Ladyfest Brighton, which was amazing. But to tell the truth I'm feeling kinda shitty now, I only got back a few hours ago but I'm already suffering from post-ladyfest depression syndrome, going from a really energised feminist environment where you dont have to hold back on your beliefs or justify them to people and you share so much with other people to an environment where you get on really well with the people (ie my flatmates) but they are completely unsympathetic to your most firmly held ideologies is actually real crap. I mean 24 hours ago I was having a conversation with ALLISON WOOLFE AND TOBI VAIL ( from Bratmobile and Bikini Kill respectively) for fucks sake, then I come back and my flatmate makes a face and says "you're into feminism? i dunno, i mean I think it's okay for women to do the housework cos men have to take us out for meals and spend money on us and stuff" - talk about culture shock! Argh I just wish I was back there. Brighton is so cool. And I got to hang out with Allison Woolfe! ALLISON WOOLFE!!! Okay I know this doesn't mean much to you lot, but I just had to rant and if you can't vent your frustrations at your friends then you're fucked. Anyway, I'm being negative...it was an amazing experience, I got so much cool stuff (including a green leopard-print skirt and the funniest money box you'll ever see) and went to so many cool gigs, met loads of fucking class people and some I recognised from Dublin last year. And I stayed in a squat! A SQUAT!!!!!! It was the coolest. I was expecting a rat infested dump, but it was a really nice house and big too, it reminded me of Annie's house and my old house in Belfast because it was kind of that style and lay out, but it had a basement as well! It was cool too cos most of the people were veggie like me so for once I wasn't in the minority. Plus they served cheap vegan food every day for £1.50 and they gave all the leftovers to the squat! It was gorgeous. Oh, and I learnt to use Reason, the same music software that the Prodigy and Le Tigre use. Now can you see why I'm feeling depressed at being back in crappy conservative Canterbury?

By the way Helen you should get your sister to go and see Partyline and Spider and the Webs when they come to Belfast (November 13th I think in Lavery's), they're Allison Woolfe from Bratmobile and Tobi Vail's new bands and they're both pretty good - actually Partyline were the best, Allison Woolfe is incredible onstage and they all have cool costumes). Plus I promised Allison that I'd make people from Belfast go to the gig.

Well it sounds like someone else had a cool weekend too! Go Annie, it's your birthday! That's pretty darn cool that you met so many celebs and stuff, I can't believe it! Also half the bands you mentionned I have never heard of, I think I should give you a blank cd to put of them on for me. They all sound very emo.

Annie

hey kids, just woke up after having the best night i have had in glasgow so far! my uber cool flat mate kate writes for a website and she scored guest list for the last night of the mtv2 gonzo tour so she could review the bands. we got down there and while in the queue we were interviewed for mtv2 (i mostly stared in silence and fear) then we headed on into the glasgow barfly (amazing venue) while waiting for boy kill boy to come on we had a chat with zane lowe (told him that he should go to belfast), they scored an interview with boy kill boy, really cool dudes. test icicles were madness (one is extremely hot) and then the rakes were on. afterwards was the aftershow party upstairs and we shamoooozed with celebritites, meeting some of the rakes, test icicles, the kills and be your own pet. i then met an amazing boy who was like an emo version of the guy from idlewid when he used to be hot, and i was totally in love with him and then found out he lived in dundee and was only in glasgow for the night, curses! while i was hanging around with him my flat mate kate was busy getting off with the drummer from boy kill boy?! it was so random. afterwards we were hanging with the band outside and got a taxi with them. i got home and went to bed at 4 and had to get up again at nine for lectures, but i didnt mind (kate on the other hand didnt get home till 9 in the morning), when you all come to glasgow you will like the barfly, total indie disco going on! anyway my night proves that glasgow is way better than manchester and london put together. anyway, in other news im going to see the harold pinter play 'betrayal' tonight and then tomorrow night panda kopanda are playing and staying at my sisters flat?!(randomness) so it should be a good night, i cant wait till mark and caoimhe and nikki get here as i have a really good week planned, i hope i can just fit some work in during all the partying! talk to you all soon! laters

Matthew

You're better shouting 'Fire!' than setting off a panic alarm, you know what people are like, they won't want to help a woman attacked but if they think it's a fire tey are more likely to. Apparently.
THe house is Orla, Lucy, Grainne, Louie, Aileen and Brady, yes big ass Brady. I jumped in a puddle on sat night and it was so deep and I got ompletely soaked, 'twas heee larious and it splashed up everywhere.

Louise

What I was asking Matthew is was it Grainne McHenry and also who's livin in this house?
Also, I officially hate essays, they are scum of the earth! and if anyone wants to help me answer the question 'Did Soviet Women enjoy more rights than their European Sisters between 1917 and 1939' then feel free- why oh why did i pick history as my optional module
Finally Also Niall Robinson has a scruffy ginger goaty beard as well as longish hair- he looks like a tramp and Andrew Bates is freakin me out he keeps appearing everywhere- i always see him walkin up the Malone Rd as i'm walking down it, i wonder where he's goin, do ya think he's in halls and if so wouldn't he be a scary flatmate- oh sorry that was really bitchy although he is freakin me out. i got a panic alarm today, scared the crap out of my dog when i tested it, sooo funny

Mark

Helen nooooooooooooooooooooooo creeps could stumble upon this site and prank you! Plus my fone is mental as well sent it away top be fixed and motorola is refusing to fix it due to water damage!Wat is the freak!AND THEY upload orange software and im t-mobile!Oh i didnt make it clear ive sent it of twice and the 1st time they didnt say anything about water damage so i think they just cant be arsed replacing my fone the bastards. Yea it less than 9 days till im on glaswegian soil uber exicted! Helen im sure art students arnt that geeky after all ur an art student and your far from geeky, this neighbours viewing has become a fiasco a grade A fiasco i missed a couple of episodes and im so far out of the loop it just a speck in the distance so have just given up watching all together instead im watching richard and judy,i know i know im sad but they have such interesting guests and judy is a fool while richard .......well hes a dork but together they say funny things so i watch. Aideen i was exited to her DJ Johnston gracing the tinternet so get on streaming ur show........well when you actually get the keys to do your show...Anyway im most jealous of all your student lifestyles, its just really crap here the limelight is now infested with my year which is just becoming tedious. Keeley i keep forgeting to post your present apologies but also ahhhh dont even hint at the plots in lost. Well back to tee-dee-om (couldnt spell it right so spelt it phonetically)

Matthew

Gah! Can't you let one typo lie Louise? I know that it's spelt Aileen, and the Grainne thing, I went with Grainne and Aileen, because they are friends and I am friends with them both.

Helen

hi all!

aw it's so nice to read everyone's posts! ok your social lives r fabulous compared to mine. seriously art students r all big geeks. i haven't been out since last friday when dette came up (thanx, twas lovely!). have so many assessments all the time and work load is huge. but....can't wait til thurs cos we have a big freshers party so i'll be well pissed and glammed up. yeah! annie i love the glasgow school of art, u should go to their halloween do, it'll be amazing. i saw posters 4 it last year when i was in glasgow. i so would have gone there but they don't have any degrees i want to do...

i never watch t v here either. i did watch a dvd last night which was nice. also, 2 of my flatmates watch friends constantly cos they have the dvds. bronagh, when r u coming to london? let me know, my halls r fab (except the stinkin kitchen which is actually really nice but just really dirty). i have a great air bed and sleeping bag, dette loved it. as did aideen.

oh, my phone broke this week so i am temporarily back to this number: 07708 686423

miss u's all! xxxxxxxxxx

Bronagh, you're wee sister did a solo at Bangor mass- she's such a great singer!- i'm so blind when it comes to things far away, so it might not have been, if it wasn't just ignore this whole sentence!
Matthew, Grainne who? and if it was Grainne McHenry- why?, also you spelt Aileen wrong(that's the right spelling)
Dette and Annie- Billy who? i missed a couple of episodes, are you talking about Billy Kennedy or have you just mixed him up with Lance. I've started watching old neighbours on UK Gold, soooo good. Libby and Drew have just got married and when they were on their honeymoon Libby was saying how she wanted to be with him until they're grey and old and in an old people's home- how little she knows! I loveeeeeeeeeee Neighbours

Bronagh

hey, just to say i've seen the first couple of episodes of the new series of lost. i know what's in the hatch. just gonna watch the next few now, daryl has them on his computer. tut tut illegal downloading.

Went to Foo Kin today with Ailen and Grainne, was sooooooo nice. There house is really nice too, although their fire escape had been blocked up by some bricks which I had to move for them. nothing else has happened really although myold boss said she would rearrange everyones hours so that I could have 4 full days work a week until I find something permanent which was nice.

Aideen (NOT happy)

GRRRRRRRR! I'm supposed to be doing my first ever radio show now, but they gave me the wrong keys so I couldn't get into the studio! The I phoned the guy in charge and he said that there was probably no point cos they'd be turning me off at 5.45 anyway cos they're doing some question time thingy in the SU - thanks for telling me! Bastards.

Bronagh

hello, it's four o'clock and i'm still hungover. went to a class place last night but we decided to walk home in the pouring rain and now my shoes are soaked. was out past two nights and they both involved a lot of alcohol so i think i might go home now to bed, but then have to get up again for a chinese with people on my course and also fit in my french work for tomorrow. i'm ashamed to say i've missed a handful of lectures, missed the first one this morning cos i couldn't get out of bed but i've strategically missed all the crap ones. everyone in my flats obsessed with neighbours and they wanted to have a party to celebrate the anniversary. aagghh i'm so tired. going to see tom vek tomorrow night. yo! and then going to the fun town of high wycombe on friday to see daryl ( who talked to the kooks last year when they supported the babyshambles, everyone is apparently obsessed with the kooks). but agh bloody trains i hate them. should also see how deborah is cos her and michael were in a state at nine o'clock last night. they had been drinking since three. michael fell over and started talking to himself. quote" i'm so amused at my own drunkeness"

love ya all
bronagh.

Dette

Yay neighbours! and it was bound to happen between serena and connor cos there is noone else foe them. and yeah it was about time to introduce a new family. i mitched off lectures yeasterday morning to do work and ended up watching a bbc newsline special about neighbours - andy peters went to ramsy street and such forth. i figured it was my only option. there was also a general consensus (is that spelt rite?) in our common room that billy has become hot. not sure, still think he is a big doof. annie why are you maybe not going to ben folds? it wud be class! Im just on internet messing around cos im so happy i solved some coursework sheets. and when i say solved, i mean solved the riddle that is finding a web-site that gives u the answers. such a fraud, i know. but it is essential cos the work is building up thick and fast - its dangerously easy to sit around and do nothing. Plus i have so much on this week - pub quiz last nite (altho not a pub quiz as u know it - its all really really REALLY hard sciency questions and such - i only get the ones in the joke round, like naming the mr men), tonite have a birthday party in soho and if i dont go, the birthday girl may eat me shes so scary, then my sisters work do on thurs with a £3000 tab! mental and then yay aidans coming over to see me at the weekend so yeah no work being done. not helped by being on the blog. but have to speak to all u lovelies. keep us posted on the old school, louise - whose fighting with who etc! im sure some people are bound to have been murdered in lucy's mad house by now!
speak to yous later
dette

Annie

i'm not definately not going to ben folds, i just cant specify at this time, you are in possession of the ticket though yes? cos i dont have it! nothing really new, have to go see a play this week and write about it for theatre studies, probably a pinter one that is on, 'betrayal', i really miss everyone still, but i think you will all love murano if you come visit, so come this year cos i will probably move out next year! people are already talking about housing arrangements next year. my watch broke about a week and a half ago and now my phone is mental on the blink so i never know what time it is and had to get someone to wake me up in the morning for uni! i am going mad. im just hanging out in the library now between lectures and then im going to pizza hut in about an hour to have all i can eat. not much news going down, its pretty quiet around here, except im totally skint. i would text everyone more but i never have any money, i might get a contract phone soon. talk to ya all later. but let me just say this, neighbours the past two nights was amazing!!!!!!! especially when carl walked up behind izzy, i was watching that in a kitchen with about 8 other people and we all screamed, also how hot has billy got???? hopefully will get to gigs soon, my flat mate went out with a boy out of the cooks?! random!! bye!!!!

Louise

Yes! I'm lovin neighbours at the mo Dette, did you see it on Friday when Izzy was lying to Karl about Gus raping her?- how bad was her acting!! Can't wait for the anniversary day on Tuesday, its definitely getting taped to go alongside my Lassiters explosion tape. I have some Neighbours goss if you wanna hear it... oh i'll tell ya anyway, Serena and Connor get together, how bizarre is that and a new family, the Kinski's i think they're called, move in soon, oh and Paul moves into Ramsey St. you know because he already owns Lou's house, and apparently he's signed a new contract until 2008- Lucky Us (not)- Oh how i love neighbours
Quite random but saw a book in the library today called 'Whores in History', what a lovely title!
Hope you's are all havin a great time over in the foreign country and Scotland (i like scottish people better), Bro say hi to Deborah, haven't talked to her in ages

Aideen

Annie I can't believe you're not coming to Ben Folds!!! You hafta come!!! Also it's Smellen's birthday the day after so you really do hafta come! If you're not going to go, can you arrange to give your ticket to someone else, and if you are, can you give me the money for it at some stage? I know your skint at the mo, whenever you can manage it, y'know. Does anyone want Annie's ticket? Also I don't think I'm gonna come to Sleater-Kinney, It entails me missing lectures, which isnt too bad in itself but I'm missing the same lecture this week cos of Ladyfest and the following week cos I'm working (shhhh! don't tell anyone! It's a one-off) so I don't wanna piss off my teacher too much by missing three weeks in a row. Will come up at some stage I promise!

By the way, the Rocky Horror Show comes to Canterbury in February methinks so Mark if you fancy coming over around then then that would be the time to do it! Trudi at Oxfam's gonna let me do a special Rocky Horror window display in the run up I think, how cool would that be? Yeo is what I say.

dette

yeah sorry matthew i forgot. also forgot to say some loser from another hall broke into ours and flooded the baths which leaked into the offices and now well all probs lose our deposit cos noone will admit to letting the guys in. grr.

DID ANYONE SEE NEIGHBOURS TODAY?!?! WORLD'S GREATEST EPISODE!

annie

hey, how is everyone? so i sound mental do i? huh? huh? probably cos i am. just finished writing an english essay there now, i love english lit, it rules. i am having mark and co to stay duuring the reading week you speak of so im too busy and important to come to london then. i dont know if i can come for ben folds either, cos i have lectures scheduled for that day, but then again i skipped my first lecture today!!!! it felt bad. tried to go see tom vek the other night but was sold out so went to see mother and the addicts, they were pretty good. i met one of my flat mate alice's friends who goes to the art school and she asked me did i used to go to giros and said she recognised me because she has video footage of me dancing around on stage, was a scary moment, must see such videos. also a boy came up to me in murano and said i was from bangor west and that me and my twin worked in the mace....i keep meeting him and then he was in my flat, he is wierd. i really like glasgow but i would like to see everyone and im skint, i want new clothes!!! is anyone else doing english? i met brona brennans cousin and also aideen have you met sarah hobson from bangor at all??? probably going out to the art school this thurs, here it is reallt pretentious so i will have to dress up for the occassion. laterz!

Bronagh

oh dette i know how you feel about people not waiting you or not telling you what the hell is going on. had i few of those myself but i guess that way you find out who are actually your friends and who are not. did go and see the ordinary boys on friday, again was completely mental. me and my flatmate were a bit drunk though and she nearly set fire to the kitchen when we got home cos she wanted to make eggs, beans and peas. will definitely go down on reading week, anyone else get one? think i may have one french grammar class on the tuesday though because apparently you don't read for that. damn technicality. i'll let you know the haps though.

Aideen

Good thing you're not at uni then Metthew (you're doing that deliberately now). Dette, I wanted to text you but by the time I got to London I had 8p on my phone and no free texts left! Bahstahds. Oh well, a mix CD (that I meant to give you before I went off) will be winging it's way to you tomorrow morning. I'm not doing too many hours, it's just 7 a week which is good cos it means I'm free to do other things all week, plus I get loads of sleep and stuff. My flatmate Becky works all the time and we never see her ever. Hope you got over your hangover okay.

My radio show is on Wednesdays from 5-6 but I'm not sure when they'll get around to streaming it on the internet. When they do, y'all hafta listen!

Metthew

Dette! I told you that! You big idea thief! I just spillt Ragu all over the kitchen, if I was at Uni I would have left it but since I'm at home I have to tidy it! Gah!

Dette

well aidsmee u came all the way to london and didnt even text me - well i never! never in all my life have i ever EVER been so insulted! how rude! no no its grand but im glad ur having a good time, just dont work too many hours, look after urself darhlin. well whats been happenning? doing a lot of nothing really buta lot of walking. we had our physical sciences freshers ball last nite - it was a bit mental to say the least - ballroom dancing and poker and a chocolate fountain and a vodka ice statue - we go for style. but was very very pissed off cos i asked my two mates richard and tom to wait for me so we could all walk home together and oh yeah, they bloody left without me. not impressed. sorry this is a crap blog. fact is, im extremely hungover - yes i admit it. had port and tequila and god knows what else. but yeah, exciting stuff rather than my drinking habits. going to buy my sisters wedding dress today - yo! - but also i have 3 pieces of coursework to hand in for next week (not even started yet) so may have to work out donnie darco and his time travel theory to get it all done. but sure. oh i really want someone to come see my halls - they themselves r way crapper than helen's fancy ones but the area is so nice so yeah bron, come on down. im going home on 18th of november but apart from that, its all good. and aideen on thurs im free from 10-3but it sucks after that - straight lectures til 6pm! who finishes at 6 - noone! bloody lectures. sorry im just reading this blog and realising that i sound like an angry lunatic. im actually really having a good time. yeahwas just doin my laundry and called into the common room to see if anyone was alive and there was a complete stranger asleep but he had his shoes neatly tied up on the window. hmm. ah well. oh yeah one last thing. apparently adrian went to a freshers party dressed in a toga (the only one dressed in a toga) and ended up geting a cold! awh.
everyone have a nice day! go on

Aideen

Bronagh, you are a bitch from hell and I hope your insides rot. In other words - yes, I am jealous.

Bronagh

Hey, i better be quick cos there is a queue for the computers in the library and they keep giving me evil looks cos i'm not actually doing work on it. went to see royskopp last night for seven quid with deborah and michael. was well impressed, very good. might go and see the ordinary boys tonight, just have to check in the union to see if there are any tickets left. going to see tom vek next week. prodigy in november and rufus wainwright in december. woo-hoo! but all this gigging is leaving me very broke indeed. also sebastian tellier was supporting royskopp and he sang la retournaille, which i love to bits. sort of started doing some work this week but it was quite limited. i was about to collapse on thursday morning cos i had a tutorial at nine and didn't get to sleep until half three. went out with this girl on my course who is from newry but the club was a bit on the trendy side. they played the baywatch theme, nuff said. everyone is actually irish here, it's scary. there's two guys from derry across the hall from me and a guy from dungannon next door. we started a war with next door's flat cos our front windows are really close together. it's permanently like a sauna inn our flat so the window's always open. we'd be sitting watching tv and the next thing milk cartons are chucked through our window. the other day it was a broken tennis racket. i had the bright idea to chuck bananas at them but it sort of backfired cos they threw them back and now we have a banana smeared window. lovely. there's no chance of deborah ever leaving a post here. i don't know why she pays rent cos she really just lives in michael's flat. but i was in her flat once and she should stay there more, living in the lap of luxury. a shower each! what?
anyway, london people. i have a reading week at end of october/start of november and will probs go to london for the week so when are you free? also aideen, the bar in our halls is having a rocky horror show themed hallowe'en party. jealous?

love, bronagh.

Aideen, you're drunken people story made me laugh out loud, and yes it was a rather long post. Do you really have to keep using the word Anyhoo, if its even a word!!!
Was on the train with Kerri today and gave the Blogger details, so she should be joining us soon!
In more past pupil sightings Chris Flynn said hi to me today even though i hardly ever talked to me, and Andrew Bates is kinda scaring me, he keeps appearing in places where i am and staring at me (very strange behaviour), also saw Bronagh Brennan on train, as well as Darius, dono where he was goin, the mitcher!! I'm having a bit of a tank- top obsession at the mo- is that weird!, i'm probably gonna end up like that Geography teacher we had, remember her!
Matthew, I'm going with Norma's from Comber
Bernadette, You're Da

Aideen im planning a visit to london but i hope to swing by the cunterbury in march wud be sooner but Glasgow is requiring more money than previously thought and stupid formal is expensive ah well it'll work out.AAAHHHHHH yes ID fuck. ISIC cards how well do they work? I feel Bad as im involving anita in a freud! a freud! curse my need for Logan hit.

Nothing really has been happening here just usual limings and things like that however there was a...well an incident in the library. It was just like an other friday sitting in the library waiting for 1st period to be over. The glove was a litle slack and kept running out of the library. So me and coaihme were talking away soon the talking turned to slagging which turned into Horse play, blatant horse-play.Files where thrown pencil cases were pused in the end i decided to end it all by taking her file and placing it on the top shelve below the clock. But im a retard and hit the clock the file fell, the clock fell it was a split second decsion but i chose to save the clock.By this point below had noticed something then saw the blatant fumblings of a fanciest and embarrassed man. The clock still wonky was left alone,i grabbed my stuff ran out of the library luckily the glove did not se but anita saw far to much far to much!!!!!!!!!!!!Anyway the clock was fixed and the glove and anita never new of the horse play factor yeo but the shame still lingers. well gtg chemistry awaits.

My manager at Oxfam is the sister of the guy from the Bodyrockers! The one with the sleazy voice! How cool is that?

Aideen

How is everyone! It's so nice that everyone's posting again, I miss yis all! My life in Canters is going great, I've had a pretty cool and eventful week. On Thursday I started working at Oxfam which is pretty darn cool cos it means I get first pick of all the cool stuff that comes in, also the store is literally across the street from my flat which rocks. It's pretty easy, I get to just drink herbal tea and listen to music in between sticking labels on stuff and serving customers. Then on Saturday I was working at my other job during the day (at the veggie cafe) and it was really nice, not anywhere near as busy as last week, thankfully, and I'm getting on really well with the people I work with. We were all singing Joni Mitchell round the kitchen, t'was very cool. Anyhoo, so on Saturday night I went to the gay night, which turned out to be not very gay at all - it was full of straight people! I swear I saw more straight couples than gay ones. Now, I have no problem with hets coming to gay bars but when it was on that scale it meant I couldn't flirt with cute girlees incase they were straight! Anyway, it got to about 1.30 and I thought what the hell, so I went up to this girl with shoulder-length red hair and asked her to dance (you have no idea how much courage that took). We got chattin and it turns out she's just graduated from my uni (she's 21), doing the same course as me! Her name's Emma. So anyhoo she offered to buy me a drink and I said yes, then we danced together for a bit and ended up seein each other! WOO! Anyhoo, we swapped numbers and she came the next morning to the cafe (I was working) to say hi and stuff. The only catch is...she lives in Surrey. Which is two hours away by train...I mean that's okay if you've established a relationship and stuff already but if you're just getting to know someone or just startin dating someone it's a bit shit. Anyhoo, we've been textin and stuff and we're just gonna see how it goes, I'll be doin work experience in London so I might see her more often then, but she says she doesn't wanna tie me back from meeting someone in Canterbury. Which is good because there's this guy in my film class that I kinda like, he's got impeccable taste in music, so if I have a chance with him I don't want to forsake it because I may or may not be seeing some girl who lives 2 hours away. This all sounds rather complicated, and it is! But hey. Basically I'm just gonna keep looking but keep Emma in mind. OoOoO its all very exciting!

Anyways, on Sunday I went up to London to see Helen! I was so chuffed to see her again and it was really nice to see an old familiar face for once! Her flat is so cool, it's got a really cool arty vibe and the rules are much more relaxed than ours (like we're not allowed to smoke or put things up on walls but they are). Plus her flatmates seem lovely, I got on rather well with them. So anyhoo we went out for an indian meal which was lovely, and we got a shitload for very cheap. The only bad thing was that the lights were too bright and it created a not-very-meal-esque atmosphere, also they were playing this really uber-eighties bollywood flick that me and Helen kept wanting to slag off but the waiters were standing really near us so we couldn't gossip! Anyhoo, Helen is a mad woman, she stays up really late every night, I don't know how she survives! So I ended up staying up really late with her and felt soo tired the next day! Anyhoo, Monday morning she had to go to uni so I went round Londres and it was pretty cool. I was exhausted by the end of the day however, and now I have the cold! Must have been the lack of sleep on Saturday and Sunday nights combined that fucked up my immune system...not good. My flatmates were really surprised that I got the cold because I eat so much fruit and veg! Anyway Helen thanks for letting me come up and visit you! I had a great time.

I'm getting my own radio show! It's probably gonna be Tusday nights or something and we're hoping to get it streamed on the radio so you can all listen to me! Will let you know more when I do...

What else...I've joined the choir, nothing too interesting there, except we're singing this really difficult Mozart piece and the conductor is mad.

Thanks for the tip Dette. Is Serenity that Joss Whedon film? Cos I was thinking about going to see that, and now I won't. Speaking of films, this guy in my French class sang with his school choir on the Sleepy Hollow soundtrack! His school also did vocals for Happy Potter and Lord of the Rings - how cool is that?! And yes Annie does sound like a mentalist but to be fair I'm probably writing in just as incoherent and disjointed a way as her due to my cold and the fact that I'm listening to Mylo really loud (got his album the other day - highly recommended).

Louise that's so funny that you see everyone all the time, I love hearing your gossip about randomers from our school. The James Friel jumper story was rather amusing.

Bronagh I hope you had a great birthday! I meant to text you but I forgot, sorry! Feel free to slap me, etc...

The drunk people outside my bedroom window every night are doing my head in, a group of lager louts just went past a minute ago and I poked my head out and some guy went "Oi that was my room last year!" and they all ran over so I hid behind my curtain. Eeeek.

Dette and Helen, I am coming to see a gig on Wednesday 26th October so I wouldn't mind meeting up with you...well I'll be staying at Helen's flat anyway so that was mainly directed at Dette. I'll be free before the gig and also all day Thursday so if you wanna let me know when your free if poss that'd be great.

Also I'm going to Ladyfest Brighton in a week and a half and I can't wait!!!

So, yeah...someone come and visit me puh-lease! Everyone else in my flat has people over on a regular basis.

By the way you should all check out this link, it's for donating music to teenage hurricane survivors which seems kinda trivial but makes sense when you think about it.

HAHA Bronagh, see i can actually still hate the English in public without anyone batting an eyelid cause you know everyone feel's the same(ah, Norn Iron's not that bad)-Although techically you lot are actually become english yourselves- OH THE SHAME!!!
Walked past James Friel the other day in a Grandad jumper (not me, him) almost laughed out loud, and also saw Ross with a really weird new haircut (i've kind of turned into a past pupils spotter/gossiper, sorry its just i keep seeing so many of us)
Psychology is brilliant and know joke there are 2 guys the spit of Michael Savage- you wouldn't think he'd have a common face but he obviously does, its so weird. We're doing Forensic Psychology this week which is class, i'm now daydreaming about being a Forensic Psychologist for the FBI- how brilliant would that be- although i'm still holding out for being President of the USA, or at least work in the The West Wing!!
Oh and finally, after many days, months and years i am actually having my 1st driving lesson next week, and its in a mini, i'm kinda suprisingly excited! Matthew have you passed you're test yet!

Bronagh

Hey, i can now write with so much more wisdom at the grand age of 19. birthday weekend wasn't too hectic, daryl got the mega bus up on friday cos he had no money for trains and it was delayed for ages so it didn't get in till ten. being the party animals we are, we went for a chinese and then went home. just watched the football on saturday and went out on sat night to the most pretentious indie club ever. but hey they played fuck forever and bottles of beer were a quid. think a couple of my flatmates hate me cos we were a bit drunk the other night and talking some sport and i made some flippant remark that i don't support england at football. they said it was ridiculous that i based football on prejudices blah blah blah which is probably true. they asked me why did everyone in the world hate england but i wasn't gonna get into that one cos then they'd discover that i am a big english hater. i suppose i should actually do some work, have got research to do for french but i love my french teacher. he's just the epitome of a french person. think's he's totally cool, wears baggy jeans and makes references to the smashing pumpkins. gonna go and actually do some work.

love ya all, miss you.

I've decided to just ramble for a while becuase I ain't got anything else to do.

Aideen

Nice to see everybody back! Well, my life's going pretty darn good. I got a job at a vegetarian cafe on Saturdays washing dishes for £5.20/hour plus tips, and cleaning for 3 hours on Sundays for £6/hour! Not bad I say. Yeah Dette our halls are nice but my room is the worst in the building - I get a ridiculous amount of traffic noise, plus it's really badly laid out compared to everybody elses. Funny you should say, there's a distinct lack of males in our house! Also don't panic about smart people, you're a feckin genius. Could you please email me yr address at uni? I wanna send an email with everyone's contact details on it, also I have a mix cd for ya! That goes for everyone else who hasn't sent me their address yet. Damn yooooo! As far as diet's concerned, I've gone veggie and am feeling pretty healthy and full of energy. Also haven't been drinking too much, go me!!! Apart from last night, the least said about that the better (two words: drinking. games.). And I know what you mean bout the whole english accent thing, sometimes I'll say things and go "was that me? I don't speak like that!".

By the way you two Londoners, I'm coming up for a gig soon. The Organ are playing there a couple of dates in October and November, the most convenient one's Wednesday 26th. I might come up in the afternoon (my lecture finishes at 1 on Wednesdays), meet you guys if I can, then go to the gig, stay over at Helen's or Dette's, then come home on Thursday night (if u wanna meet up on Thursday afternoon/early evening I can do that too). Sound like a plan?

Me and my flatmates have been doin this pub quiz thing on a Tuesday night, and everyweek we get closer and closer to winning - last tues we came second! So hopefully that pattern will continue cos next week there's £100 prize money in it! Ohhhhh yesssss.

If anyone fancies coming down to visit me, feel free. Actually, please do, everyone else has had guests and I feel left out!

Dette aka London darhlin'

hello! sorry havent been on in ages but dont blame me - i now officiallyhate computers of every shape, form and size. finally managed to internet, hence the loggin on.

well whats been happening? halls r great - mine are the scabbiest things ever - my room is tiny, my window is broken and i dont have a desk lamp but i love it. also the kitchen smells. was really scared at first but most people are lovely. however, there is a distict lack of females in my halls but since were all geeks at heart it doenst matter. actually i feel really crap being here. my two closet friends both have 5As at A-level and one of them, will, who is on my course already has 7 textbooks - i dont even have a fucking reading list yet! this is still freshers week but weve had loads of introductory lectures and a testtoday! quite scared by my lack ofknowledge compared to every one else. beginning to wonder what the hell im doin here. anyways, yeah just been drinking a lot-its good. got another pub crawl tonight, "maths partay" tomorro and a physical sciences union ball next week complete with chocolate fountain. yeah has anyone else found that their diet has become composed entirely of cereal, bread and chocolate and that any liquid is consumed in alcoholic form? anyone? my timetable isnt too bad actually, 21hours a week but alas, in at 9am everyday. my area actually is beautiful - most expensive in london, all designer shops but it makes it safe at night for walking home from the union cos i live about 15/20mins away from campus. but still its good. im the only irish one in my halls and ithink in my course so im bigging up the english football defeat. also am quite ashamed but its far too easy to subconsciously pick up the english accent. ive been told off by aidan for soundong english but i seriously don mean too. but i dont to end up sounding like kathryn boyd or something. ah well. happy birthday morag and mark - keep the limers hard core, whatever it takes.

Bronagh

Hey, i was in the middle of typing a really long post the other day but then the stupid library computer deleted it so i was too annoyed to type another. It's my birthday tomorrow. yo! little party by myself then. i just had the most stupid lecture ever this morning cos the lecturer was really crap and he kept referring to this handout that nobody had. someone told him we didn't have it but then he continued to refer to it. aaghh. was at a ceilidh last night and it was brilliant fun. was with the "norn iron" society. i need to stop going out, have only had about 2 nights in. went to canal street on tuesday night (aka the gay village) such a bizzare night. ended up in some place called poptastic and i danced like a mad woman to kylie minogue. was in this other bar as well, also in the gay village and kathy murray was working there. aagghh. better go, have a french class and the tutor is french and he actually thinks he's david ginola. bless.

love ya all.

p. s logan! where the hell are you? not replying to texts. ggrrr.

Good times, good times...(I almost wrote "goo times")

Yeah, and *I* was Fagin!

Matthew

Me and Orla were talking about that the day we went to school to get our results! And we kept turning away when big lorries came past so we didn't get soaked and we nearly missed the bus! Oh. My. God. You're wearing navy tights! That was really sore though, it really was. Also the, 'fuck my ass!' moment, and the 'lemon in the sugar' moment that I didn't witness but have heard alot about. Also, Helen's 'remember when you played Fag In in the school play Annie?' 'Its Fagin, and I was the judge!' Plus, 'a rhyme is defineeeeeee da, as a word which rhymes with another word' Good Times, Frenzy anyone?

Louise

Hey again!
Aideen, my email's loubeg_87@yahoo.com, I'll say to Kerri as well. Mark doesn't work in M&S, I just saw him there, looking rather scruffy in his school uniform
Matthew, i laugh out loud randomly all the time, particularly when thinking about the day me, you and Orla were walking to Cabin Hill and i told the navy tights story, which led to you almost breaking your ankle- how hilarious/absolutely freezing was that day!
P.S that's and underscore between the g and 87, its not very clear

Aideen

Yeah that was pretty funny wasn't it? Och I'm getting all nostalgic...

Louise that's insane that you've seen so many people! I can't believe the amount of people who stayed in Belfast for uni. Also that sucks sooo much about Jackie. That would piss the shit outta me.

Life's pretty good at the moment, I just got a Saturday job washing dishes at a vegetarian cafe and it's really cool. I get 5.20 an hour plus tips, which is really good for just washing dishes! Like yesterday I worked for 4 3/4 hours and got over £33! At Villa Toscana I'd have got about £20 for that. The people are really nice, the food's great (I got free vegan chocolate cake at the endof the day!) and you can wear whatever you like. Yeyness!

Louise, Matthew and Mark can you email me your home address? I need everyone's addresses so I can send out an en-masse email so people can write to each other and stuff. So far I've only got Helen and Bronagh's.

Mark's working in M&S??? How weird.

I'm studying Film TV and Radio with french. What are you doing? Also if you do see Kerri could you give her the address, username and password for chickennnnugget, cos I don't think she's ever posted and I really wanna hear from her! Also, find out her email address. By the way I have a birthday pressie for you (I know, I know...) but never got the chance to give it to you. Now you're not gonna get it til November

I'm getting on really well with my flatmates, except one of them has this really horrible boyfriend who I would never ever ever put up with in a million years and it's really pissing me off cos she won't dump him.

Anyway I should go, there's an American girl sitting opposite me in the computer suite with a really sexy accent and it's getting quite distracting! Hope yis are all good...

Matthew

Louise!I'm suprised at you! Ya bitch! I was sitting in mass today, fun, and I actually laughed out loud thinking about the clay bag! Funniest thing ever! Especially the time it was only me Dette and Aideen and we ripped it.
