Sat 13th...should be okaaayy...*hesitant*...im not sure if work will be terribly happy about me getting yet more time off...but ya know what? I don't give. I'll be bustin' outta that joint when I go away, which is in less than 2 months when you think of it. Then I'll never set eyes on their sorry asses again. Muahahaha!!! So, yes. Saturday 13th should be okay. I'll just go in and get it off asap. YEY! A Morag party! Hafta say Bronagh, you know how to throw one. I wonder what scandals will arise from this one...

Bronagh's mum: What happened? Who threw up Bronagh?
Bronagh: What Mark? Oh, you want to talk to me? Okay [runs away]

Ahem.

Sorry Bronagh, had to lie in front of the parents. Film festival my ass. I was in Belfast this evening for the launch partaaay of Pride week (you know, pride of the LGBT variety). Cass didn't know it was on until after she'd already made arrangements for the night, so I went by myself. Which was fine cos I met some people I knew from Cara-Friend. Dette* I was a little confused when you phoned me cos you were all apologising that I had to go by myself - don't worry, I'd been planning to do so. It was skibunny I was gonna ask you to go to, not the Pride event. Anyhoo. There's events on all this week like pub quizzes, film nights, seminars, parties and the parade march thingy next Saturday which should be good. I'm looking forward to it all cos it'll be my first Pride and to be honest this year's been the first year I've actually been 99% comfortable with my sexuality (I think Cassie had a lot to do with that) so it'll be a nice way for me to celebrate. Btw there was a huge huge huge fundamentalist Free-Presbyterian-esque campaign to stop the parade, which almost succeeded, but in the end we got the go ahead. So it'll be like "Oh Bondage, Up Yours!" all over again. SKA-ROO-OOOO YEW!

But seriously ladies, we have got to go to Skibunny or at least Bang or Frisky Disco at least once before uni starts. I don't know how many more Saturday nights I can get away with at work.

*Bersmee, where art thou?

Bronagh

OK, so i should have a free house from the 13th august cos all of my family are away to donegal for the week and i have to stay home and work. well that's my excuse anyway.
so gonna have a party of some sort, just all you people no randomners. does sat. 13th suit everyone cos the sunday i think is the only day i have off that week, cos i really don't wanna be rushing to work the next day.
what does everyone think?

Helen

I'm home.

I have a similar story to Aideen's!!!

I illegally have 2 passports
one Irish one British
I gave my dad the British one the day berfore we left.
All was good.
Mum decided that I should bring Irish one and swapped the 2.
We flew to Liverpool and all was dandy.
Was about to board plane to Nice but was stopped - PASSPORT EXPIRED 2004!!!!!!
My family were all on plane
realised i wasn't there
and Laura came to see what happened.

To cut longer story a bit shorter, mum and i flew back to belfast
got home and looked at British passport which is legitimate until 2006!!!!

So mum and i flew out again on the Sunday night to Liverpool, slept in burger king, and got the 6am plane to Nice

MADNESS!!!
but we got there in the end and all was lovely

and Bronagh I didn't ring any passport help lines.

Anyone heard of any jobs going????? Je suis au chomage parce que Villa Italia est ferme pour des renonvations.........grrrrrrrrr

Love yas xxxxxxx

p.s. I'm going to limelite tonight - is anyone else???

And Aideen - since when were you going to Amsterdam?!?!??!?!?!

Aideen

Yeah we did get to go. I'm sitting in the hotel lobby at the moment. Actually, this time it wasn't my fault, it was my parents, and if I had my way I would've checked them a million times. We just got them super-fast-tracked which took a day so me an mum flew out on thursday and dad and the boys flew on friday. Amsterdam rocks. It's the coolest place on earth and I wanna live here.

Bronagh

aaaghhh Aideen.
i have to spend hours everyday listening to things like this.
it frustrates me so much.
check the bloody passports before you even book your holiday then i wouldn't get horrible people phoning me up and shouting at me when its clearly all their fault.
did you get to go?

Aideen

So, we're supposed to be heading off to Amsterdam tomorrow - I repeat, tomorrow - and mum discovers that the boys' passports expired, oh...about a year ago. Fuck.

yay, oxegen was the bestest fun ever.
especially the prodigy, and they were even better as we went to see them instead of greenday who are just trampy mc tramps. i was the smelliest person on earth though by monday morning and the toilets were a horror film in themselves.
so much fun and everyone was so nice. i'm all sunburn though and it hurts.
bloc party were great as well, so were kaiser chiefs.
i still haven't watched the oc yet cos my dad is working all day in the room were the video recorder is so i won't see it for ages, and everyone keeps talking about it. ahhhhh.

p.s
yay oxegen.

I really need one too. Possibly for my birthday. Anyhoo, I have to have it before the Sleater-Kinney concert (to which I'm also considering bringing my camcorder and/or minidisc recorder). I don't know much about digitial cameras per se, but here's a handy guide from amazon.com:

So I need to get a digital camera and was wanting help, spesh from helen and aideen cos they're camera ppl. Have you any suggestions? I've been told not to go any lower than 4 megapixels and I don't really want to spend more than £2oo all together (camera and memory stick?). I've been looking at www.pixmania.com but to be honest it doesn't really mean much to me. So help me pls. Also does any one have a USB pen? Are they worth it?

Bronagh

Hello my lovelies.
Did everyone watch Live 8? Aah everytime i turned on radio/tv i was graced with the annoyiness of joss stone/ jo whiley. eugh bare feet and dancing with james brown. I feel like i am completely clueless about everything. Aideen, why are you going to Birmingham and Helen, have you been out with Joe again? this time next week i'll be sitting in a muddy field, hopefully with a bottle of cider in my hand. Also just realised, the finale of the oc is on then so i'll have to get sara to tape it for me. that double bill was damn good today. Can't wait, but annie, deborah and all we have to get bus sorted. Has anyone spoken to Louise? Where is she? I don't think i'm ever gonna go out in bangor again cos went to wolsey's for an hour about twelve last night and it is so crap when there are no seats and they played really bad music.
Imagine... i could have gone to live8, if i had two hundred pounds.
xoxo

Apparently Le Tigre are co-writing and producing a track on Paris Hilton's new album!?!?! Weird...very weird...

http://www.mtve.com/article.php?ArticleId=5479

Anyhoo, I have set up a Livejournal account for no real reason except to have my very own personal blog. There's only one post so far, but go along and say hiya:

http://www.livejournal.com/users/_morningtheft_/

Anyhoo, went out with Cassie on Wednesday, it was sweet. First we went to this unofficial gay bar (the Union Street Pub, round the corner from the Front Page) where it was happy hour. It was very chic, I'm talking plenty of glass, metal and marble. Anyhoo, as it was happy hour we got two cosmopolitans for the price of one (four quid), so I got two and Cassie got two, but the barman was like "actually we've got like 3 cocktail glasses left so can I put it in a jug and give you two cocktail glasses instead of 4?" and we were like "sure". And he basically filled the jug so where there should have been 4 cocktails we got 8. How sweet is that!? A pound each! So, yeah, I was very tipsy when I got home...we went on a boat trip as well but that's another story.

Aideen

Of course it was necessary! How dare you question my logic?!

I can just imagine what it must look like when she's wearing underwear:

I spend waaaaaay too much time thinking about these things...

Anyhooo, YES we hafta meet up. I leave for Birmingham in a week and a half. I just have to find out when I'm working next week, then I will let yis know if and when I can make it. We should go to crescent park and just hang out like we did after the exams cos that was really nice. Or Esquires/Clements/Maggie Mays if it's raining. Also, we have to do something for Louise's birthday. Where is Louise anyway? Or Kerri or Deborah for that matter?

Has anyone heard of Nouvelles Vagues? They're a French band who do cool Jazzy covers of songs like Teenage Kicks and Love Will Tear us Apart. http://www.nouvellesvagues.com/
